DBCO is a click chemistry handle used to efficiently react with azides on target molecules, while the PNP carbonate is used to react with amines to ligate this linker with a payload to be delivered to cells. The Val-Ala dipeptide is subject to proteolysis within the cell, allowing for the PAB group to cause release the payload to the cytoplasm.
