7-氨基放线菌素 D(7-AAD)是一种非浸入性染料,可以用来检测无活性的细胞。质膜损伤的细胞或者受损/无新陈代谢的细胞不能阻止染料进入细胞。染料一旦进入细胞,它将结合到细胞内DNA分子上,形成具有高荧光性的加成物,借此可以检测细胞是无活性的。7-AAD广泛地用于流式细胞术中。7-AAD被氩激光器发射的488 nm 激发激发,产生的荧光在高于650nm处被检测到。虽然7-AAD的发射光强度比PI低,但是它的发射光波长较长,这使它在与其它在488nm处激发的荧光染料(例如,FITC和PE)共结合进行的多重分析中实用性更强。
